Subject: Oxamyl use in California and Arizona
Rick and Linda,
We have just had an inquiry from the Agency (BEAD) about the current usage of Oxamyl.
Oxamyl on California cucumbers.
-CDPR data indicate that little oxamyl (<1%) is used on CA cucumbers.
Just would like to get confirmation on this very low usage.
Oxamyl on California and Arizona watermelons
-Re-entry Interval issue (from 2 to possibly 6 days)
-Target Pests: ?
-Typical Timing of Application(s)?
-Number of Application(s)?
-Alternatives
-Interference with any hand conducted production practices?
Data available including profiles is scant. It does appear that use is minimal. A quick turnaround would be appreciated as BEAD assessments are to be completed next week.
Bead assessments are a prelude to proposed regulatory/label actions so if these uses are critical or if use of Oxamyl may rise with reductions in use of MBr this could be an early warning of need for comment.
I will also be trying to reach specialist and industry folks that may be involved directly.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments.
Best,
Ted Rogers
