Request for Information on Dicofol Use in California

Subject: Request for Information on application of dicofol to apricots,
nectarines or peaches in California during 2002
Attached is an Excel file that lists each application of dicofol to apricots, nectarines or peaches in California during 2002. These data are from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation using a program developed to sort the raw data set. I have also taken the harvested acreage of each crop from the County Agricultural Commissioners' report to calculate the percent acres treated. As you can see, only 3.11% of apricots were treated, 1.37% of nectarines were treated and 3.04% of peaches were treated.
The spreadsheet also gives you amounts applied, from which you can calculate the rate, as well as the application date. Apricots are usually harvested in June, but peaches and nectarines may be harvested over a wide time frame based on varieties. Most are harvested in June - August.
If you need additional information, please work through Al Jenning's office.
