Belinda and Lori;
Per my voice messages today.
Cheminova and EPA are involved in preliminary risk mitigation discussions
for dimethoate. Three row crops in California are of particular interest:
Refinements must be made to lower drinking water risk numbers. Cheminova
has asked me to contact growers directly. We need your feedback in 4
days, hopefully.
(1) Celery - 6 to 7 applications; 0.5 lb ai/acre, aerial applications
- Can growers live without aerial applications?
- Can growers live with a less than the 0.5 lb ai/acre maximum application
rate? If so, at what application rate?
- Do growers apply Dimethoate on cauliflower in the cold, wet rainy winter
season?
- Is the celery being grown away from the coast area of California ?
(Inland provides better drinking water numbers because a different model
will be used)
(2) Cauliflower - 6 to 7 applications; 0.5 lb ai/acre, aerial applications

If you'd rather I confer with another expert, please let me know who.
Many thanks!
