Subject: Information request for prodiamine
Hello Harold,
Thank you for speaking with me earlier. I am a Chemical Review Manager in the Pesticide Re-evaluation Division in the Office of Pesticide Programs, and I am working on the Registration Review of prodiamine. Prodiamine is a dinitroaniline herbicide used mainly on turf, landscaping, and nurseries.
Specifically, I would like to find out more about the Special Local Need (SLNs) registrations for prodiamine in California and Arizona. These SLNs are for use on irrigation ditches (labels attached). The irrigation ditch use is causing us some concern because it is unclear to our scientists whether or not this should be considered a food use. If possible, I would like to speak with someone who knows the extent to which prodiamine is used on irrigation ditches, when it is applied, and whether this is an important tool for weed control on irrigation ditches in California and Arizona.
I would be thankful for any information or contacts you could provide.
Thanks for your time and please let me know if you have any questions.
